I had kind of a lame birthday. My brother and sister-in-law did their best to make things up for me and I appreciate those who sent me their support, but I'm here at the end of my birthday party where a total of 8 people out of about 40-50 invited showed up. For anyone who tells you that teaching is a hard job to meet people- yes it is. I need to find some new methods.
In an effort to cheer me up I'm making a list of some of my last birthdays:
1. 19th: My dorm friends threw me a surprise party, where they even tracked down JP despite my computer always being locked, and my church friends took me to steak and shake.
2. 20th: After going to Hillel, Casey, Megan, Lindsay and I went to a bar together. More of an opportunity for pics than for anything else but we did hang out at a bar.
3. 21st: The mastery of birthdays (or at least it seemed) Stephanie and I got together for an "Everybody's a 21st bday party" party (long story) where we dressed up in similar dresses, I looked ridiculously hot and there was a lot of drama.
4. 22nd: Another good time at Legends (even if Banjo tried to set me up with a depressed 40 yr old)
5. 23rd: mom made a dress for me as a duplicate of the 21st. My friends made me dinner and then we went to Legends (as always)
6. 24th: My brother and sister in law did their best, my brother taking me out to dinner and both of them placing flowers and balloons in my room. My friends from champaign reminded me that I do have a great deal of friends, but the birthday party came out a bit missing in people. Thanks to teh 8 who did show up!
